What does your role at Tonic involve?

When I first joined Tonic two years ago I started off as the Office Coordinator in charge of all things admin. I recently returned from maternity leave and am very excited to be stepping into the new position of Events & Projects Coordinator! I’m really looking forward to Tonic being able to run more in-person events and to support our change making projects.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Tonic?

It’s such a pleasure to work with a fantastic team of like minded people who all have a clear mission. It also means a lot to me to be working for a company that genuinely makes a difference and tackles issues people working in the arts are facing in such a positive and constructive way.

What book/podcast/documentary/etc inspires you the most?

The Motherhood Penalty by Joeli Brearley (Founder of Pregnant Then Screwed) is a fantastic book. While finding out the true extent of discrimination that happens is quite harrowing it’s also very funny in parts and full of practical advice to help navigate any situation you may find yourself in. As a working parent myself I really appreciate having this toolkit and knowing what my rights are. I think it should be compulsory reading for all employers!

What 3 words would you use to describe Tonic?

Unique, Optimistic and Inspiring.

Tonic – For greater equality, diversity and inclusion in the arts
