Supporting recruitment of a new Executive Director at the New Wolsey Theatre

Case Study #1

In winter 2021-22, the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich recruited a new Chief Executive to succeed the outgoing leadership team after their 21 year tenure.

Tonic was engaged to work with the Board, Senior Team and interview panel to ensure equality and diversity were considered at every step of the recruitment process. Our brief was also to support the Board to recruit a Chief Executive who would both value and build on the excellent work already in place at the New Wolsey in relation to disability and access and who would honour its commitment to being a key civic and artistic hub for the people of Ipswich.

“We partnered with Tonic to recruit a new Chief Executive for the New Wolsey Theatre. They worked alongside us from the start of our thinking to the interviews and appointment. At all times they were challenging and supportive and a delight to work with. The process proved smooth and collegiate and we recruited an excellent CEO.”
