About Tonic

For over a decade, Tonic has been at the forefront of driving change within arts and culture, making the sector more equitable, diverse and inclusive.

“Tonic’s expertise, care and structured way of working creates a safe space for us to reflect and better understand ourselves and situations, always resulting in clear actions that drive change and achieve the impact we want to make.”

KATE WYATT, CREATIVE PRODUCER, ROYAL OPERA HOUSE

We devise and lead innovative and impactful change projects which get to the root of existing inequalities and make long-lasting and wide-spread change. Through our extensive training programme and one-to-one support for arts organisations, we are able to galvanise real change. The results of our work are felt across the UK and internationally.

Where we work

Tonic’s work takes place across the arts ecology. We exist to support anyone and everyone involved in the arts and are as comfortable working with a group of West End producers as we are a room of volunteers at a community arts space. Whether professional or amateur, not-for-profit or commercial, within the formal education system or outside of it, if you want to make change happen, we are here for you.

Originally founded in London, Tonic’s work now has a national and international reach. In the past 12 years we have worked with hundreds of organisations across 14 different countries. While we love being in a room with people we also offer digital programmes, enabling us to connect with people anywhere in the world and to support organisations that work globally.

In the past year alone we reached…

Thousands in the UK

We supported arts organisations right across the country: from Edinburgh in the north to Bournemouth in the south, Aldeburgh in the east and Cardiff in the west. Our work has taken place in dozens of villages, towns and cities the length and breadth of the country.

Across Europe

We took advantage of digital working to continue our international collaborations delivering work to organisations in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain and Switzerland.

And beyond…

We shipped copies of our Platform plays and our books to dozens of schools, youth theatre companies and arts organisations around the globe including to Australia, Cyprus, Switzerland, and the USA.
