About the Course

In theatre, the ability to work well with others, and across different departments, all with conflicting priorities, is the key to a successful production. Collaboration can be challenging, which is why this workshop, tailored for Production Arts and Technical Theatre students, focuses on identifying common obstacles and strategies for overcoming them. Through industry-specific scenarios and group exercises, students will gain the tools to collaborate and communicate effectively with their team, even in high stress and time-sensitive situations.

  • The core principals of collaboration
  • Communication and conflict resolution skills
  • How to build trust and emotional intelligence in high-pressure environments
  • Navigating creative differences and technical challenges

You’ll come away with

  • An understanding of core collaboration skills
  • A greater understanding of the elements of effective communication, and how this could work for you and your communication style 
  • Enhanced problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and how to maintain positive working relationships  
  • An understanding of ways in which to manage personal and team emotions under stress 
  • Space to consider how this learning can be put into practice moving forwards
