Tonic Celebrates

October 2016

Guests

Rachel Bown-Williams & Ruth Cooper Brown, fight directors
Tanika Gupta, playwright
Emma Rice, Artistic Director, Shakespeare’s Globe

The second Tonic Celebrates took Tonic to the candlelit surroundings of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe. The panellists reflected on their involvement in Emma Rice’s inaugural season at the Globe, as well as their wider experiences in theatre. Their truly innovative careers offered new and fresh perspectives on the achievements of women in theatre.

Tonic’s Director Lucy Kerbel sat down with Emma Rice beforehand and their conversation can be viewed here.

“Well the gate keepers are changing which means the world is changing.”

Emma Rice, Artistic Director, Shakespeare’s Globe
