From October 2024, UK legislation requires employers to proactively take reasonable measures to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. This ‘top up’ session is for managers who have already participated in our Preventing Sexual Harassment training. It provides managers with confidence and practical guidance on ways to undertake their obligations under the new duty.
Why train with Tonic? We are a leading EDI training provider, offering courses designed specifically for the arts and creative environments. But crucially, each time you book a course with Tonic you also help support our work driving change across the industry. Win, win.
“The training was excellent, incredibly useful and informative.”
The session is an optional ‘bolt on’ to Tonic’s Preventing Sexual Harassment training. It focuses specifically on the steps that managers can take to contribute towards the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace. We’ll look in greater depth at the legal obligations now placed on employers under the Worker Protection Act (2023) and ensure managers are clear on their responsibilities within this.
We’ll work through practical steps managers can take, focusing on the importance of clear communication, identifying high risk areas, and how to create risk assessments for these. We’ll take time to look over your company’s policies and procedures so managers have space to ask any questions about how to implement these. Finally, we’ll look at how managers can effectively provide an effective ‘first response’ in the event a colleague does raise a concern with them about sexual harassment (NB, this training only covers your initial response. Please speak to us if you require more in-depth training on how to manage the next steps, including escalation or formal investigation of the concern).
